George - Our children's stories

George

George

George is a very happy, content, but adventurous little boy. He isn’t even 1 yet but is enjoying learning new things every day.

He has recently learnt to roll over, so he can soon get from one side of the room to the other!

George likes people to play with him and especially likes tickles and people trying to make him laugh. He has a big sister who has already been adopted and she is doing fantastically in her new home. With the help of his foster carer he’s already written to her to let her know how he is doing too.

George loves to watch the world around him and have new experiences.

He also likes to be pushed outside in his pram listening to the birds sing, play with toys and watch musical programmes on the television but he also likes cuddles and snuggles! They give him a warm feeling inside his belly and when he’s feeling tired, they help him drift off to sleep. He is a big boy now and sleeps in his own room which he loves, it helps him wake up each day ready to see what adventure awaits.

George has been with the same foster carer since he was born. Unfortunately, his mother was only young when she gave birth to him, but she had also had another child before him, who has already been placed for adoption. His mother has had her own difficulties and challenges growing up and needed support to look after herself, and this made it difficult for her to look after her children. She has made some fantastic progress, which has been positive to see and she has a lot of love for her children. George still sees his tummy mummy each month at the moment but regrettably we don’t know who his birth dad is.

George is considered to be of mixed heritage because he has Mongolian blue spots as well as olive-coloured skin, this suggests his paternal heritage may be different to that of white British.

George’s foster carers describe him as a joy to look after, he is settled into a good routine and he responds well to the warm interactions he is provided with.

His foster carers interact with him by talking, cuddling, kissing and encouraging him to engage in playful activities. He responds with smiles when his carers talk to him and he sits happily and content in their arms when he is being held. George listens to their voices, tracks their movements and is easily soothed by them if he becomes upset. They describe how he loves to observe the world around him and he will study people’s faces and turn to the voices of others. He often greets others with smiles.

George’s social worker says he is a very happy little boy who is full of smiles. He is alert and brings a smile to anyone’s face. He is happy for others to play and interact with him and he isn’t shy to show off any new tricks he has learnt. He is a gentle and content baby who enjoys being cuddled, and he would be a wonderful addition to any family.

George needs a family who will embrace and support his potential mixed heritage, maintain meaningful connections with those important to him, and provide consistent love and care to help him continue to flourish.
