Finn is a thoughtful, caring yet observant four year old who loves to connect about his favourite thing which is reading and sharing stories. Finn likes being outdoors and if the weather is good, you can find him out in the garden helping his carer with hanging out the washing or tidying up. He enjoys going to the shops and assisting putting things in the trolley and on the conveyor belt. He thrives when meeting the extended family at the weekend, where he connects through shared mealtimes, and loves the one to one attention with older adults sharing stories or jigsaws. Finn is kind and affectionate, and seeks nurture from the adults who know him. He loves cuddles and home comforts, especially his story books. His favourite things are his large floor jigsaws, but he also likes watching cartoons on TV like Paw Patrol. He has lots of food favourites at breakfast time, he can be found eating dry cereals without milk such as cheerio’s, coco pops or peanut butter on warm bagels, muffins and butter. He enjoys attempting different textured breads like sesame seed bagels and sausages and fish fingers. Another favourite is strawberry yogurt pouches, usually as snacks after nursery before visiting the park. Finn will also experiment eating and enjoying vegetarian foods. Finn has lived with his foster carer since he was two as he wasn’t able to be cared for safely at home, despite several attempts to support this. His carers commented "Finn is a kind boy and always has a story book to share. He has close connections with myself and the other adults who he knows in our blended family of different religions and cultures. He needs to be a leader within play situations alongside children, with the support of visual prompts and Makaton signing. He is such a clever boy who surprises me every day and responds well to boundaries and praise if the sensory environment isn’t overwhelming for him. He is so loving and caring and we will miss him when he finds a new family, as we have known him since he was four days old." Nursery describe him as being a "bright boy with a sunny disposition who has a great sense of humour. He encourages our little ones to take turns and share when role playing. Finn is most relaxed when he uses routines as it makes him feel safe and the environment predictable. He has a special eye for detail and will often be a good memory for any adult if they have lost something." Finn would welcome a one or two parent family who could embrace his Autism and Sensory Processing Needs using the help of an EHCP plan and a support network of SEND related professionals. We would consider families from a range of cultural/heritage backgrounds as he currently resides within a multi-cultural household. He would also thrive in a family where he is an only child. |
