Oakley is a happy and active one-year-old who loves to play and explore. He particularly enjoys using his toy hoover, mimicking the actions and noises. He has a keen interest in cars and books, especially turning the pages himself! Ride-on toys are a firm favourite of his, especially his bumper car, which he can confidently control to move around and spin in circles, which he finds hilarious. He also enjoys pretend play, spending time at his toy kitchen engaged in role play activities. He is very active and can confidently walk, run, and climb with great enthusiasm. Oakley has a consistent routine, going to bed between 7pm and 7.30pm with his dummy and a bottle of milk to settle, and he typically wakes between 6am and 6.40am. He has a nap during the day at around 10.30am. He loves a wide variety of foods and particularly enjoys porridge and toast at the moment. He loves playing with other children and he often babbles animatedly during interactions. He is beginning to use a few single words and enjoys watching ‘In the Night Garden’ and other programmes on CBeebies. Oakley was known to Children Social Care prior to his birth. He was exposed to domestic violence in utero. He was removed from his birth parents’ care and placed with experienced foster carers when he was 3 months old where he has remained since. He is doing very well in their care and is meeting his expected milestones. Oakley’s foster carers describe him as knowing exactly what he wants, being determined, funny, and full of character: a truly lovable little boy. Oakley is looking for a loving and fun family to adopt him. He is used to a busy household so a family with existing children would be welcomed as would a family with no existing children but a strong support network of other young children for Oakley to socialise with. |
