Liam is three-years-old and just the cutest little thing; a little smiler and full of charm. He has the most fantastic curly light brown hair and deep brown eyes.
Liam lives with his foster carer and her two grown up boys who he really enjoys being around, playing trains or football, or on adventures out and about together. He lives with a dog too but she’s a bit old and grumpy! Liam goes to a play group where he can play with friends and the boys teach him how to play football in the garden. His carer also takes him along to her troupe dancing class where all the big girls just love him and he loves the attention. He is a huge fan of anything with wheels… cars, trains and trucks. He loves to whizz them round the room or take his trains round the track; he loves it if you join in and have super fun with him. He loves eating fruit; blueberries and strawberries are his faves!
Whilst he has excellent understanding of what you say to him, Liam is still learning to speak and will need support and encouragement with his confidence and development, to help him to feel confident to use his voice. Similarly with his physical development, he would be described as walking a little later than some other boys and girls so he is building up but he does like to use his little legs… they just get a bit tired when on big adventures.
Liam’s social worker would say: “Liam is the cutest little ball of sunshine; I love playing trains with him and following his firm instructions about where to drive my train!
He is a proper little character who loves to learn, explore and play. He is thriving in his foster home, and they all love him so very much! He is such a good little boy; he eats well and sleeps even better and brings lots of fun! Through the challenges that the grown ups around him have faced, Liam has had more disruption than we would hope for any little person. He is going to need parents who really show him what security can feel like, and help him feel confident to plant and grow his little roots with them.”
Liam’s foster carer says: “Liam is absolutely lovely, a little cutie and just absolutely delightful. He is very funny and makes everyone he meets laugh. He is just a dream to look after and everyone who meets him loves him.”
Liam is of dual heritage White British and Black Caribbean so we are looking for a family who can help him celebrate and understand his identity. He needs a family who will confidently care for him throughout his childhood; helping him to feel safe and secure within any new home and who can provide patience and compassion with supporting him through such big changes for him. He has lived with both male and female and older children. He is familiar with babies in the home too. He will need lots of good time and attention to help him feel safe and invested in so it is important any parents have plenty of capacity if other children are in the home.
