Asher

Asher is five-years-old with bright blue eyes, light brown hair and a lovely smile. He is a happy little boy who likes to laugh, have fun and spend time with the people who know him well.

Once he feels comfortable, his personality really shines through and he enjoys sharing playful moments with those around him.

Asher loves to play and explore the world around him. He enjoys making his own choices and following the things that interest him most. One of his favourite things is anything that moves. He really enjoys playing with toy cars and can spend ages watching vehicles go by. He finds them fascinating! He also enjoys watching cartoons, and Bing is one of his favourites. He is becoming more confident about trying new things. The adults caring for him support him gently to experience new activities and routines, and he is learning that new experiences can be fun. Recently, he has even become more willing to try different foods, which is a big achievement for him.

Asher communicate in his own way. Although he’s not currently using words, he shows people what he likes and doesn’t like through his actions, expressions and gestures. His foster carers are helping him to develop his communication skills, and he is making progress all the time. He is currently on the Autism pathway, and he does best when he has patient adults around him who understand his needs and help him feel safe and secure.

Asher has a great sense of humour and loves sharing fun moments with people. He likes giving high fives and often laugh when adults join in with his games.

Even though he communicates differently, he enjoys connecting with others and being part of playful interactions. Some of his favourite activities include bath time, especially when he has lots of toys to play with in the water. He also loves visiting the park, where he can run around, enjoy being outdoors and have lots of fun on the slides. The people who know him describe him as a joyful little boy who brings smiles and laughter to others.

Asher is a delightful little boy who brings warmth, laughter and joy to those around him.

He has a wonderful smile and a playful personality that shines through when he feels comfortable and secure. He appears most settled and content when he is in environments that feel safe and where he knows what to expect. Asher enjoys 1:1 attention and shared activities, particularly those linked to his interests such as numbers, iPad time and play with cars.

Asher needs a family who will be patient, nurturing and understanding, and who will celebrate every step of his journey. A family who can connect with him through his interests and provide a safe, predictable and nurturing environment will help him to feel secure and supported.
