Orla - Our children's stories

Orla

Orla

Orla is two and a very happy little girl who is always smiling and laughing!

She likes to see smiling, happy faces so be warned, she will flash one of her cheeky smiles to grab your attention. She loves cuddles and kisses.

Orla loves playing with all her toys, especially the ones that make different sounds - she knows exactly which buttons to press to make each sound happen. She loves playing on the floor and in her ball pool. She enjoys building things with Lego bricks, too. She can play well all by herself and with other people.

She really likes spending time with her foster carers and playing with the other children when they visit. Her carer says she’s a ‘social butterfly’!

In the womb, Orla had a difficult time and complications around her birth led to a brain injury. Despite her tough start, Orla has shown remarkable strength and resilience. She continues to grow, develop and connect with the people around her, and she is now ready for a loving, nurturing family who can support her to thrive.

Orla has been in living with her current cares since she was discharged from hospital. Her carers describe her as “brilliant and a truly lovely child to care for. She brings joy to everyone around her because of her amazing personality. She is loving, beautiful, sociable, and always full of smiles. She is alert and meeting all her developmental milestones. She can happily play all day, especially enjoying Lego and most of her toys really. She loves being chased by her male carer!

She makes us laugh and knows how to win people over with her fun nature! Orla’s giggles are adorable, and her smile can melt your heart”.

Orla likes to see smiling, happy faces as she is a smiler and giggler too. She wants comfort, cuddles and kisses, and to receive attention and be interacted with by her new family. She would like her new family to be understanding and patient. It’s important for her to have a connection and feel a sense of belonging. She wants to feel like she truly belongs in her new family. With all her needs met, she’ll be able to thrive, bond with her family, and grow into her fullest self!
