William is a fun-loving two-year old who has been described as a real cutie because of his bright blue eyes and blond hair. He has a lot of love to give and enjoys being given lots of cuddles and kisses with those he knows. William is playful, but also very cheeky and he loves it when others make him laugh – he has the most infectious chuckle!!! William is thriving in his development, going from strength to strength. He can now cruise the furniture, pull himself up to stand and feed himself. He even enjoys a three-course breakfast sometimes….he really likes his food!! He’s started to take his own steps and we think he’ll be walking (if not running) before long! He will give you a good conversation, but you might need to understand some of his babbles first! William really enjoys it when others are playful with him, the sillier the better and he’s always interested in the next adventure and keen to learn more each day. Games like ‘hidey – peep’ really make him smile and tickles really make him laugh! He’s a real water baby and loves bath time and being taken swimming. He lives in a busy household and enjoys watching people come and go. He likes going to local play centres, and enjoys the slides the most and with encouragement, he will explore the environment. Wiliam likes to look at different books, especially ones with different textures and he also like toys which make noises and move. Food wise, people say he’s a fabulous little eater. Yoghurts are one of his favourite things to eat, but he also enjoys porridge and bananas, corn beef, roast dinners and stews. He tends to like most fruits but also different finger foods. For comfort, he has a muslin cloth that he holds on to and brings to his face, but he also likes cuddles and comfort from his foster carers. William has birth siblings, on both sides of the family, who were unable to live with birth parents as it wasn’t safe. William has lived with foster carers since leaving hospital at two days old. William’s foster carers describe him as a joy to look after. They really love how playful he is and are amazed at the progress he has made in their care. They say he is in a very good routine, he sleeps through then night and he really enjoys it when the other children in the household play and interact with him. He is really loved by his whole foster family. Staff at William’s nursery have also provided some very positive feedback. He has only just started but he has settled very well and just 'got stuck in'. They say ‘its like he has always been here’. He plays and interacts with the other children and sits with them for meal times. William’s health visitor has felt that in the last 3 months, he has really progressed in his development and she feels he is a completely different boy to how he was when he first entered foster care. She speaks very highly of his determination and progress. William needs a family to love him and support him, to encourage him to meet his milestones and celebrate these with him when he does! He needs love and consistency to help him feel safe and secure, as we have seen when he is in receipt of these things, he flourishes! |
