Jaylen - Our children's stories

Jaylen

Jaylen

Jaylen is one-year-old and a happy and active little boy who loves to play and explore. He particularly enjoys kicking or throwing a ball, hoovering, mopping and his dog toy that he pulls along the floor.

Jaylen loves cars, dinosaurs and dancing to music with his carers. He finds great interest in ‘touchy feel’ books and feeling the different textures. He is very funny and always makes his carers laugh! He loves all animals and loves watching nature programmes on the TV and likes his carers to make noises as to what the animals do.

Outdoors is his favourite place to be especially at the farm with the horses, and he is now helping like a little farmer!

He is confident around animals, and loves being involved, He enjoys playing with his carers’ dog and will throw a ball for the dog to chase; also he loves to pat the dog and stroke him. He is very active and can confidently walk, run, and climb with great enthusiasm.

Jaylen has a consistent routine, sleeping 10-12hrs at night with a bottle of warm milk before bed and he has one nap in the day. He loves trying a variety of foods and particularly enjoys fruit, yoghurt and Jaffa cakes! He loves playing with other children and he often babbles animatedly during interactions. He is beginning to use a few single words and enjoys watching singing dinosaurs on YouTube.

Jaylen’s birth mother was exposed to domestic violence during the pregnancy, and he has experienced several moves since his birth between foster care and the care of his mother. Jaylen has been with his current carers for some time, and he is doing very well in their care. He is meeting age milestones in fine and gross motor skills and is currently supported with his speech and language as there is a slight delay.

Jaylen’s foster carers describe him as funny, knowing exactly what he wants, being determined and full of character, a truly lovable little boy.

Jaylen is looking for a safe, loving and fun family who can give him every opportunity to thrive as he grows.
