Supporting birth families

We work in partnership with PAC-UK's First Family service to provide independent specialist advice, counselling and support for adults affected by adoption. Referrals can be made directly to PAC-UK, or we can support with this and make a referral on your behalf.

If you are a birth relative in need of support in maintaining contact with the adoptive family then our dedicated Contact Co-ordinators can help with advice, guidance, and support with post adoption contact, including letterbox exchanges, sharing important information and writing letters. FamilyConnect, hosted by PAC UK with funding from Adoption England, helps adults who have been adopted and birth families who would like support and advice regarding adoption and they are able to offer intermediary services for those adopted prior to 1976.  For adopted people this is the link with information:  Welcome to FamilyConnect - FamilyConnect

In addition, the Family Rights Group allows people to search for adoption support services in their area using their postcode or local authority. It includes details of services offering advice, counselling, contact support, support groups and other forms of help. www.frg.org.uk/birth-families-map
