ASGSF Announcement

Whilst the funding pot of £50million was confirmed earlier this month, it has now been announced that in order to ensure that the needs of as many children as possible are met, there are some changes which being implemented this year which will impact on the amount of money which can be claimed per child (as detailed below).  This will mean that applications which were ready for submission will now need to be reviewed with this in mind before we are able to submit as we need to be sure that we have enough money in the budget for any work which is needed over and above the new fair access limit.  In some cases we may need to look at reducing the frequency or length of therapy initially, or exploring alternative ways in which needs could be met.

We appreciate that for many of you this has been an extremely anxious time and this news will undoubtedly lead to further worry.  We would ask that you allow us time to do the work that is now needed at our end.  I assure you that we will get in touch with every family affected either to confirm that your application has been made or to look at amending as quickly as we possibly can.  If you have not heard from us within the next fortnight then please feel free to get in touch but if we could ask that you avoid calling for updates prior to then to allow workers and managers to prioritise the necessary reviews and ensure that applications are made as quickly as possible.
