We need people like you!

We have a shortage of Black adopters here in the North West of England and we need people like you.

There, we said it.

We encourage anyone that comes forward to adopt to be open and honest, and that means that we will be open and honest with you.

When it comes to matching with a child/ren we do look at everything adopters can offer,  focusing on how adopters can relate to a child/ren

Nationally children of Black heritage make up 7% of all looked after children, and they often wait longer than those of other ethnicities to be matched with an adoptive family. This is due to a shortage of adopters who are able to meet their cultural needs.
We are encouraging people from the Black community, who are or have been thinking about adoption, to come forward and talk to us. Has there been something that has been stopping you from starting the adoption process? We want to have a conversation, to allay any fears, worries or misconceptions that you may have and support you through the adoption process. We really want to understand the barriers that you face and help to alleviate as many of them as possible.
Adoption in the UK is striving for more inclusivity, to support the children we have waiting for their adoptive families. You will be supported every step of the way, throughout your journey in assessment and beyond. Ranging from therapeutic parenting to nurture groups, or our in-depth training and our amazing mentor scheme; we have the support for YOU and anyone who is thinking about starting the adoption process.

We need people like YOU.
