Alec is a happy little pocket rocket who was born very early, but he is a little champion and is making lots of progress every day!
Alec isn’t quite one yet, but when corrected to the age when he should have been born, he is perfectly sized. He is a very sweet little boy who has fair skin, blue eyes, and the most gorgeous strawberry blonde hair.
Alec is a good sleeper, and his favourite thing to do is have a warm bath, he especially loves the feel of bubbles on his tummy and will cry when it’s time to get out!
Alec was born very prematurely weighing just 800g! He was cared for by neonatal nurses for the first three months of his life, before moving to his current foster carers. He was also exposed to drugs and alcohol in pregnancy. He spent the first few months of his life lying down in hospital, and he wants to see the world now! His foster carers say he is very easy to care for, he has some medical needs and needs the right family to care for him. He has required a breathing tube since birth but is now spending 4 hours a day off this oxygen. This will soon increase to 8 hours. Alec has also been tube fed but is planned to be weaned onto food when he next visits the dietician. He is making remarkable progress!
Alec has had very limited contact with his birth parents. He has now met his siblings who also have a care plan of adoption.
Alec likes being spoken to, sung to, and being the centre of his foster family’s world.
He likes to watch some TV, his favourite being dancing fruit which he finds fascinating. Alec loves to be sat upright, and he wants to look around him at the world.
Alec needs a family who can accept him for who he is and support him to reach his potential. A family who can accept a high level of uncertainty regarding his future health and development given his experiences so far. A family who are willing to support him to learn more about his Lithuanian heritage and support him to have direct contact with his two siblings who have a care plan of adoption.
