Darius (8) and Thomas (3) are lovely boys who are very happy, active and engaging.
They have a good relationship with one another, but like all siblings, need encouragement to share. Thomas looks up to his big brother and likes to be in the mix of whatever Darius is doing! They have a lot of fun together and are often seen smiling and laughing at each other.
Darius is a happy little boy with a lot of energy! He enjoys being outdoors walking or playing football. He loves parks and recently enjoyed a trip to flamingo land going on all of the rides. He has also enjoyed trips to Blackpool.
Darius likes going to the beach, play centres, inflatables and trampolines.
He also likes to spend time on his iPad playing educational games and enjoys building Lego sets which he has displayed in his room. He is very good at following Lego instructions! He also enjoys colouring. Darius is generally a very happy boy but needs lots of reassurance, and due to his experiences, he can present as younger than his years.
Thomas is a very happy and active toddler who is very smiley, cheeky, and a bit of a whirlwind! He is developing well and is very healthy but is a little behind with his speech and communication.
Thomas is very affectionate and likes to be involved in family life.
His favourite toy is his ‘little tikes cosy coupe police car’ which he enjoys riding around outside! He likes to play with cars and trucks, and his remote-control car. He is now starting to enjoy hot wheels toys as well. Thomas is a good eater and will try most foods. He is in a good routine, and still enjoys a bottle before bed which settles him down.
Darius and Thomas have experienced significant neglect and their birth parents have misused drugs and alcohol. Darius’ speech and communication was quite poor when he first came into care but he has made huge improvements. The boys have experienced one change of carers due to their foster carers retiring.
Darius and Thomas require a family who are very active, fun and engaging. They both need support with their speech and communication. The family needs to be able to nurture both boys and be able to spend 1:1 time with each child to support their attachments and overall development. The boys will also need help in learning about their Lithuanian heritage. They have a younger brother who also has a plan of adoption, so the expectation is that they will still be able to see their brother and have a meaningful relationship with him.
