Little boy with red hairLuke is only two years old but he is the biggest fighter that you will ever meet! He defied the odds between life and death from the second he was born and look at him now! He is funny, cheeky and has a thirst for life and adventure!

Luke knows that he is cute because he can get away with EVERYTHING with his smile, which it’s fair to say lights up the national grid! But in all seriousness, he brings a whole new level of love and joy to anyone who meets him!

Luke’s favourite thing is his foster family’s Labrador dog, who he absolutely adores - we can definitely see animals being a big part of his future!

He really likes getting into things that he knows he shouldn’t, but how would the world turn if it wasn’t for explorers and discoverers like him?

Musical and interactive toys are his favourite type to play with but he also enjoys anything that you have, especially your smart watches, phones and jewellery. His favourite thing to take off his foster brother is his comfort blanket, he is older than him so he doesn’t really mind but Luke finds it hilarious running away from him, comforter in tow.

Luke’s perfect day is having free rein to explore the world, to make a mess, to investigate things that he knows he’s not supposed to, to learn, to play and to laugh until he is too tired to laugh any more.

He would then like nothing better than a quiet moment with the people he loves to cuddle with a story before he drifts off to sleep.

Luke has older siblings who live with their fathers. His birth mum had a complex life which featured domestic abuse, poor mental health and substance misuse. We don’t know who his dad is, and his mum has now passed away which means he is an orphan.

Luke was born at 24 weeks gestation – which is right on the brink in terms of being viable to survive.  But Luke wasn’t giving up without a fight! His lungs weren’t quite up to the job in the real world, so he has been supported through a tracheotomy and ventilator. Luke’s lungs are stronger now and so the doctors are letting him have time off the machines ... AMAZING right! The doctor says he will be off it all together soon and by the time he is in school you won’t even know that he faced such adversity!

Luke is described as an absolute delight to be around, he is funny, determined and strong willed. One person in particular uses the phrase ‘a force to be reckoned with’ a lot!

He also has a beautiful soft side, loving cuddles and quiet story time. He is coming from strength to strength and in time, there is nothing that this amazing soul will not be able to achieve.

Luke needs a loving family who he can explore the world with and who are able to support him in his growth and development. Ideally, a parent who will stay at home with him in his early years and the Local Authority is very open to an adoption support package to allow this to happen for as long as is needed. Luke currently has a package of support which includes carers who can observe him overnight for as long as his lungs continue to need some extra help.
